Welcome Remarks from Conference Co-chairs

Following its successful launch in 2005, iPOP has established itself as the prestigious conference on IP + Optical network technologies. We are indeed very pleased that the iPOP 2007 conference is being held at the NTT Musashino R&D center, Tokyo, Japan, June 7-8 2007.

The conference, the third annual event in its series, brings together those working in this important field from the industry and academia. The event is intended to promote the exchange of ideas, sharing of the knowledge and findings, and experience in the state-of-the-art IP and Optical Networking technologies. The technical program consists of :
- An opening session,
- Two special sessions hosting invited speakers,
- Four technical sessions hosting speakers selected from open call
- Exhibition

The following themes will be discussed in the special sessions and technical sessions, which reflect the latest trends in the research and development in the IP and Optical Networking:
- Next Generation Transport from Ethernet to Lambda
- Progress of GMPLS and its Application
- Path Computation Element
- Network Management
- GMPLS E-NNI
- GMPLS Technology

We believe that your participation will add to a great experience in bringing together the state-of-the-art knowledge on IP and Optical Networking and allow lively interactions with fellow researchers/engineers/developers in this field. We hope you will enjoy the conference!
