This talk covers various aspects of MPLS Fast Reroute (or local protection): protecting RSVP-TE LSPs with RSVP-TE, protecting IP unicast and LDP with RSVP-TE, protecting multicast with RSVP-TE. It describes "micro loops" and a method to avoid them. Finally, it compares RSVP-TE-based protection with other mechanisms, both from mathematical and practical points of view.
