Attracting new enterprise customers with MPLS VPN services

For many enterprises, frame relay/ATM services are a major part of their current solution for data traffic. With their service level agreements, these services provide an enterprise with a guaranteed level of performance, reliability and security their business can rely on for critical applications. Enterprise network managers are confronted with new communication needs with the continuing migration towards more transaction-based applications, their workforce becoming more mobile and business partnerships becoming more integrated. There is also a need to handle a growing volume of today's application traffic while facing increasing budget pressures. New MPLS VPN services have the potential to address many of these needs and offer significant benefits as part of an overall network solution.

In this presentation, the speaker will focus on several critical applications, their requirements and the service solution migration with frame relay, ATM, MPLS VPNs, IP VPNs and metro Ethernet. The speaker will also provide some strategies for migrating customers to the new MPLS solution. Finally, the speaker will discuss the potential impact of key current and future standards work on these strategic services.
