This presentation will review the different IPv6 migration options enabled by an MPLS infrastructure. The presentation will then provide a more detailed description of one of this option (refered to as the 6PE) and how this enables the incremental support of IPv6 as an additional service (beyond existing IPv4 and IPv4 VPN services) without any need to upgrade the core MPLS network.
Technical solution for support of Global IPv6 reachability service (e.g. IPv6 Internet) as well as for IPv6 VPN services will be described. The presentation will highlight how this technology can be deployed to achieve very smooth introduction of IPv6 and IPv6 VPN services. Standardisation progress and as well as implementation availability will be discussed.
