Abstract:
This presentation looks into the issues related to the "traffic engineering" in a GMPLS-controlled transport network (GMPLS-TE) environment and tries to identify challenges and applications that need to be considered in the development of GMPLS.
Bio:Yong Xue currently is consulting for Capital One in Virginia as a lead network architect in the Network Architecture group. He is working on the architecture and network design of the IP QoS network to carry Voice, Video and Data traffic on a single converged network.
Before that, he was a Distinguished Engineer in the Network Architecture and Advanced Technology department at WorldCom and technical manager of a group of engineers. His group was responsible for the development of technology and network architecture for the WorldCom next generation IP, optical control plane and IP+Optical integration. He worked for UUNET/WorldCom for more than 6 years in the areas of IP network engineering, design and architecture.
Yong Xue has been actively participating in the intelligent optical network control plane and GMPLS technology and standards development in IETF, OIF and ITU. He has served as the technical editors for IETF IPO GW "Carrier Optical Service Requirements" document and ITU standards document G.7715 "ASON Routing Architecture and Requirement". He has co-authored many Internet drafts and been frequently invited to speak at many international conferences on optical networking and MPLS/GMPLS.
