Loa Andersson, Utfors: "Building a Native Data Network for Corporate VPNs"

Abstract:

Discusses the experiences in building corporate VPNs on an Ethernet based wide area (regional) network. Technology choices and problems are highlighted.

Bio:

Chief Architect at Utfors and responsible for the Utfors research and standard activities. Background in routing systems and standardization of routing protocols. Degree in chemistry 1969 and worked with technical aid and development in third world countries, and have a degrre in social science. Joined the industry in in the early 80-ties to participate in the development and standardization of ISDN and B-ISDN. Contributed substantially to the LAPD protocol. Managed development of telephony terminals and terminal adapters, switches (ATM, FR and SDH), routing technology and protocols.

Loa has a long track record of active participation in standards organizations, e.g. within CCITT (ITU), ATM Forum, IEEE and the IETF. He is one of the main contributors to the MPOA, MPLS and PPVPN standards. Currently working with inter domain routing, infrastructure technologies, VPN solutions and traffic engineering in IP networks.
