Abstract:

This presentation covers the recent developments in GMPLS based VPNs known as Optical VPNs. It describes the service scenarios such as Generalized VPNs, and packet+optical VPN interworking such as the use of virtual private Optical cross-connect and finally it highlights the issues, along with an update on the standard activities in this area.

Hamid Ould-Brahim is a renowned industry expert in provider-based VPNs. He contributed in several aspects of layer-3, layer-2 VPNs, and GMPLs based VPNs technologies both at Nortel Networks overall products and at the industry level. He is an active member of IETF PPVPN working group.
